Gandzasar church inscription
Gandzasar monastery Extract of the inscription: "I, the humble servant of God Jalal Dola Hasan, son of Vakhtang, grandson of the Great Hasan, native and sovereign prince of the high and great Artsakh, the lord of Khokhanaberd and its borders. As my father passed away, he made a bequest in his last will that was intended for my mother, Khorishah (Khorishah was the daughter of the great prince Sargis), and myself, and stated that we should erect this church in our ancestral cemetery at Gandzasar. The commencement of construction was initiated in the Armenian year 1216, with the help of the benevolent God. I, having this work in my mind in this busy life, did not stop working and by the grace and mercy of the most merciful God, completed the church in 1238, adorning it with various reliefs and the dome with various compositions.
