Students of Armenian background at UM-Dearborn, including transfer students who have completed 12 credits at UM-Dearborn or another college. Recipients must enroll full-time (12+ credit hours in fall and winter), hold a 3.0+ GPA, demonstrate financial need, and submit two recommendation letters plus a current FAFSA. Students ages 17-24 active in St. John (San Francisco) parish youth life, such as Sunday School, ACYO, Church Choir, or Acolytes; the applicant or at least one parent must be a pledging church member. ANCA Rising Leaders Program

Armenian National Committee of America, with the AYF Eastern and Western US

Armenian American university students and recent graduates aged 18 and over; Washington, DC-area Armenian American high school seniors may also take part. The top 25 applicants per session are selected on academic excellence and demonstrated community youth leadership, and submit a 600-word essay, one recommendation from an educator or community organizer, and a description of volunteer experience. Students cover their own travel to Washington.

AVC Volunteer Corps (Junior, Student, Professional and Senior Corps)

Armenian Volunteer Corps (Yerevan)

Volunteers and interns aged 21 and over from any background worldwide, serving in Armenia for one month to one year in a placement of their choosing across business, education, environmental science, arts and culture, finance, health, and the government or NGO sectors. AVC arranges airport pickup, host-family housing, Armenian language classes, and matching from more than 600 placement partners. Applicants aged 21–32 who are at least 25% Armenian are directed to Birthright Armenia instead, unless they were born in Armenia and left after age 12.

No participation fee for terms of one month or longer; volunteers cover their own travel and roughly 6,000 AMD/month health insurance

Students admitted to or pursuing a Master's or PhD, and postdoctoral researchers, working on contemporary Armenian topics from a social-sciences perspective at an internationally recognized university. Dolores Zohrab Liebmann Fund (JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., trustee)

US citizens in graduate study at one of roughly 70 designated US institutions, including Harvard, Columbia, Tufts, Brandeis, UCLA, UC Berkeley, CSU Northridge, University of Michigan, and St. Nersess Armenian Seminary. Any recognized field in the humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences qualifies, including law, medicine, engineering, and architecture, and candidates need an outstanding undergraduate record plus demonstrated financial need. Founded by Dolores Zohrab Liebmann, daughter of the Armenian statesman Krikor Zohrab; the fellowship itself is open to candidates of any descent, though the Fund's publications program focuses on Armenian culture and history.

How do I find Armenian scholarships?
The simplest way is to use one verified directory instead of searching each organization separately. The ARF Shant Student Association gathers Armenian scholarships, fellowships, and grants into a single directory, drawn from dozens of sources: AGBU, the Armenian Relief Society, university-specific programs, and more. Filter by level, search by name or field, and apply directly. You can also submit any scholarship we're missing.
Do I need to be Armenian to apply?
It depends on the scholarship. Many Armenian scholarships require Armenian heritage or descent, but eligibility varies by program. Some are open to students studying Armenian topics, attending particular schools, or meeting financial-need and GPA criteria regardless of background. Always check the eligibility details on each scholarship's page and on the organization's official application before applying.
When do most Armenian scholarships open?
